Volunteers at St. Edward Parish who work with minors and vulnerable adults, must successfully complete the Safe Environment approval process before he or she may do so. As Saint Edward values safety, we have a gradual process for all parish volunteers so that starting at the age of 15, one is introduced to the safety training process and it's values. This process is mandated and strictly enforced by the Catholic Diocese of Dallas; it consists of the following steps:
2. Attending the initial Safe Environment training session, "Family of Faith."
3. Completing a personal interview (approximately 15 minutes). This is scheduled at the time of your Safe Environment class.
4. Providing three personal references who will be contacted. 5. Consenting to a criminal background check (must be rechecked every two years).
To complete an online annual re-certification, follow the procedure below. (We will send you a reminder letter close to your anniversary date.)
Simply go to www.cathdal.org and click on “A Safe Environment”, then on Update Training at the left and choose the topic from the drop down that you wish to view.) After you have completed the training, bring the printed/signed/dated forms to the Parish Office.
